Off Track

There's a whole region
around the racetrack.

Your Day

A perfect non-track day looks like this.

VIR sits out in the country on purpose. That's part of what makes it a great racetrack, and it's why the good stuff isn't sitting right outside the gate. You're not stranded, though. Milton's five minutes across the river, Danville's a half-hour up the road with real coffee and a real dinner, and the back roads in between are the kind you'd drive for fun anyway.

There's more here than a racetrack.

Start slow. Coffee in town, a late breakfast where the regulars know each other, then point the car at a vineyard and let the morning run long. Spend the afternoon on a river trail or a museum floor. Walk a main street that's in no particular hurry. End the night somewhere quiet, or somewhere loud. Both are twenty minutes out.

And 944Fest has its own kid moments built in. Kids 15 and under get in free, and there's a Kid's Choice trophy at the car show. Everything below is for when you've had your fill of the paddock.
